Inner Work: Advanced Techniques for Dreams and Active Imagination
Jerry Ruhl, PhD
Wednesdays, 5:45 - 7:15 pm
Sept 14 - Oct 5
$90 ($80 Jung Center members)
6 CE hours
Explore Jungian and post-Jungian approaches to dreams and active imagination, powerful techniques of inner work. We will discuss phenomenological amplification, a way to "dream the dream on" in waking awareness. The conscious ego can become one-sided, arrogant, and alienated from its roots in the unconscious. Dialogue with images from dreams and fantasies brings greater balance, creativity, meaning, and inspiration to daily life. Class format will be lecture, in-class activities, and discussion. Students from previous Inner Work classes are welcome. New ideas and readings will be introduced.
Recommended reading: A packet of selected readings from Jungian analyst Russell Lockhart will be available in The Jung Center bookstore.
Jerry Ruhl, PhD, is a Jungian-oriented psychologist, executive director of The Jung Center, and author, with Robert Johnson, of Balancing Heaven and Earth, Contentment and Living Your Unlived Life.
