Restorying Life: Writing from Memory

Dates and Time

  Joyce Boatright, EdD
Wednesdays, 5:45-7:15 pm
Session I: Feb 6 - Mar 12
Session II: Mar 19 - Apr 23
Per session: $105 ($90 Jung Center members)

Description

Be inspired by Anne Lamott's Bird by Bird and reclaim the life stories that define you. You will receive writing prompts at each class to help you lift the veil of memory and write the truth about your past from the perspective of the one who lived it. The class is ongoing and students may join either or both sessions. Students will have the opportunity to read their work aloud and enjoy the personal empowerment that comes from telling and listening to each other's stories.

Joyce Boatright, EdD, author of Telling Your Story: A Basic Guide to Memoir Writing, has been teaching memoir since 1992. She is on the board of Story Circle Network, a national organization made up of women who want to explore their lives and their souls by exploring their personal stories. She teaches at North Harris College.
