Why is love so difficult? How do we fail it? For centuries, love has been a topic for philosophy, theology, and especially the arts. During the past century, depth psychology has weighed in as well. Yet marriages and partnerships continue to break up, and the divorce rate climbs.

Using ancient texts and a contemporary movie, as well as the insights of archetypal psychology, we will explore why we seem to be failing at love - and what the failure is asking of us.

During Saturday's workshop, we will take a deeper, more personal look at the themes introduced on Friday night. The workshop will incorporate lecture, discussion, film clips, and exercises for personal reflection.
