Who is the mysterious woman who roams through life, appearing in the dreams and imagination (and occasionally in physical contact!) of both men and women throughout the world? In myths, visions, religious teachings, fiction, and even in philosophy, she has manifested in the guises of savior, seductress, mother, and guide, and can be seen in the figures of the Mother Mary, Sophia, Isis, a wandering hag, a grandmother, a compelling stranger. Her message is quiet and adamant: You are loved; you have responsibilities. The changing role of the feminine principle in today's society calls us to investigate this universal figure and try to understand her message to humankind.
