Use assemblage to create a spirit box, a modern take on the idea of a reliquary. Beginning with a box of your choice—antique, new or perhaps something as simple as a paper box—you will add items to which you are drawn or have an emotional connection.
The spirit boxes may be executed in a representational, non-representational or symbolic manner. For example, the spirit could be that of a totem animal, or of an abstract interior state.
This class is suitable for students of all levels. It is not necessary to have prior art training, only the desire to express yourself creatively.
