Create a connection to the fertile ground of the unconscious imagination through the practice of sandtray. In this technique, used widely by therapists and those interested in deepening their engagement with symbolic life, the contents of the imagination are made real and visible through the placement and creative arrangements of symbols in a tray of sand.

Jung suggested that the genuine expressive impulse comes from the struggle to express visions that transcend mundane reality and portray a reality larger than the individual self. We will explore this genuine impulse and its potential for renewal and healing in this one day workshop. We will create sandtrays, explore their meaning through the process itself, and amplify this with meditation, journal writing, drawing, and discussion of applications to Jungian thought. Those who have taken this workshop previously are welcomed back, as each sandtray is a new phenomena. No experience is necessary.
